About
Mitja Robič
Photographer · Filmmaker · Outdoor Athlete
I grew up in Plavški Rovt, a small mountain village above Jesenice, Slovenia – surrounded by the mountains that have shaped much of who I am today.
Sport has been a constant part of my life. I started with ski jumping as a child and competed until I was 17. After that, the mountains became my playground – climbing, alpinism, ski touring, freeride skiing and mountain biking all became part of the journey.
And through it all, there was almost always a camera in my hands.
At first, it was simply curiosity and a way to capture the moments I was experiencing. Over time, photography and filmmaking became much more than that – they became a way of telling stories and sharing the feeling of being outside, moving through the mountains and finding yourself in the right place at the right time.
Today, I work with brands, athletes, tourism companies and businesses, creating visual content that brings together people, products, places and experiences.
Being active in the environments I photograph means I don’t experience them only through a lens. I understand them.
I know how quickly the light can change. How important timing can be. What it takes to reach the right location. And how to stay focused when a moment lasts only a few seconds.
But ultimately, I’m always looking for the same thing: a moment worth remembering.
